12% VAT to raise Indonesian textile prices, trade bodies want review

The Indonesian Fibre and Filament Yarn Producers Association recently said the rise in VAT beginning January 1 from 11 per cent to 12 per cent will lead to additional costs for producers that will be passed on to consumers.
It suggested the government postpone the VAT hike and focus instead on optimising state revenue through more efficient policies.
