By now, you’ve probably surmised we test-drive a lot of beauty products here at Who What Wear. From nail polish and makeup to hair and skincare , we’re eyebrow-deep in all things new, exciting, and wish list–worthy. That said, due to the number of products we come in contact with, we’ve become very nitpicky beauty consumers. Within seconds, we can tell if a new hair oil is too heavy, and we’re quick to ignore a serum that yields disappointing results.
The good news? We’re far more often impressed than unimpressed after trying out a new product, and usually, we can’t wait to spread the word to all of our fellow beauty lovers (that’s you!). Therefore, we’ve decided gushing over our latest fave products should become a monthly ritual. You can expect a full report every 30 days or so that details the highlighters, hair wands, and overnight skincare saviors we’ve fallen head over heels for.
For the most part, we’ll be covering buzzworthy launches, as those typically take up most of the action atop our product-filled desks, but we won’t dismiss new-to-us products, either. Sometimes, our best discoveries are found on a friend’s vanity or on someone’s face at the bar (true story). Ahead are the best beauty products we tried in November! Grab your game face and wallet because you’ll need both.
“This is not a new product, but in the last couple of years, I’ve made the huge mistake of forgetting how truly magical this stuff is. (FYI, I define magical as any product that can truly transform your hair with one use.) It smells intoxicatingly good yet not too overpowering, and it absorbs like a dream. Even if you go a little wild, you won’t be left with a greasy and disastrous aftermath. And I say that as someone with very fine hair! I usually apply a little to my damp hair and a little more once it’s dried. It’s like “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” in a bottle. Strands immediately look and feel shinier, stronger, softer, and all-around healthier. Plus, since it contains the brand’s signature Alpha Keratin 60ku—a healing protein that’s identical to the keratin that makes up 90% of our hair—it can truly help to rebuild ravaged strands.”
“Again, this is not a new product, but a rediscovered old favorite. I often lose sight of products I used to love and use religiously, as I’m constantly testing new products on a weekly basis. At the same time, when I come back to an old standby that still impresses me despite how many new formulas have launched since, I think that *really* says something. As someone with highly acne-prone skin, this is truly the only face oil I’ve ever loved and feel good about recommending. It’s lightweight, and it absorbs well, leaving your skin with a velvety finish that gives off a pretty glow. I love using it when I gua sha in the morning! Plus, since the ingredients are incredibly strategic—think salicylic acid, tea tree, cumin-seed oil, licorice-root extract, and more—this oil really helps address breakouts and the pigmentation that can be left behind from breakouts. My skin was recently going through a bad breakout of acne, and this helped clear and significantly brighten my skin in just days.”
“St. Rose is so deliberate when it comes to its fragrance launches. They don’t come often, but when they do, they’re always a grand slam. French Poetry is the latest, and I’m going to go as far as to say it may be the brand’s best yet. It’s gorgeous. It feels classic, romantic, and old-fashioned, but only in the best way possible. Not surprisingly, it’s a nod to a lush Parisian garden via sparkling notes of Italian bergamot and pear, musks, and classic florals. It’s a luxurious gourmand scent thanks to a base of vanilla, sandalwood, and amber, but twists of jasmine, freesia, gardenia, and French muguet give it a beat of floral that’s truly spectacular. It’s not a scent that you, or anyone around you, will ever forget.”
“I love this sunny new offering from DedCool. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks it’s great because it’s currently sold out at Sephora! It’s fruity, floral, and so light on the skin. It’s the perfect spring/summer fragrance, but I’ll definitely be wearing it year-round.”
“I don’t normally love body washes with oils in them, but this shea butter–rich formula totally changed my mind. It’s creamy and hydrating without being greasy, and it has a really nice lather to it. Pair it with the brand’s Cloud Body Cream for the softest skin of your life.”
“This is a great supplement to have handy during the winter. It contains hyaluronic acid and wheat oil extract (which is rich in ceramides) to help support skin hydration from the inside out. It can even help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It really does give you a glow, and it’s been helping my dehydrated skin in a big way now that the weather has gotten colder.”
“I’ve been drinking these in my water for a while now thanks to a recommendation from my boss Erin Jahns, but I figured I’d give them a special shout-out this month because they’ve helped so much with bloating. If you also struggle with this or just like a good daily detox that isn’t aggressive or harsh on your body, this is definitely a great supplement to try!”
“I love a good cleansing oil, and this is one of the best I’ve tried so far! It was a recommendation from my esthetician, and she did not steer me wrong. It provides so much hydration to the skin and has so much slip to it—everything I love in a cleansing oil!”
“I love a cleansing balm, and this one works so well to take off makeup. I also like that it comes in a squeeze tube, so you don’t need to dig it out of a tub like most cleansing balms. It also smells absolutely divine.”
“I just started making the transition into heavier skincare for fall and winter, and that includes bodycare. I’ve recently been obsessed with this body balm from Osea, which is a mix between a lotion and a body oil. I like to use it before bed, and in the morning, I wake up with supremely soft skin.”
“I’m obsessed with body butter, especially in the dry, cold winter months. This one is the latest addition to my collection. It’s half the price of others I love, yet it’s incredibly moisturizing and has a whipped texture. Translation: It doesn’t feel heavy or leave a residue on my skin. Instead, it gives my limbs a nice, hydrated glow.”
“This candle has the perfect pine scent. It’s strong enough to make me feel like I’m walking through a crisp winter forest, yet it’s subtle enough to not veer into air-freshener territory. It’s my latest home-fragrance obsession.”
“My hair is longer than it’s ever been, and it’s been a battle to keep the ends smooth and moisturized, especially since I’m so prone to split ends. This hair mask has been helping. It uses Tsubaki-seed oil and yuzu extract to boost moisture, shine, and elasticity without weighing fine hair down.”
“I have sensitive skin, so any product with the words ‘barrier repair’ catches my eye. I tried this moisturizer and quickly fell in love. It feels so soothing and weightless but still provides ample hydration, so I think it would be great for all skin types. It also has ceramides and niacinamide, which are two of my favorite ingredients that I always look for in my skincare.”
“Rhode has done it again. I literally can’t stop reaching for this shimmery pink lip tint. It’s so hydrating and has a sweet, nostalgic jelly-bean flavor, and obviously, the packaging is so pretty.”
“I’m always trying to stay on top of my wellness and have a healthy diet, but I’m not perfect, so I know I won’t always get all the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants I need. I started having this greens powder to fill in any gaps. It’s a blend of greens as well as cruciferous veggies, spirulina, and adaptogens. I add the unflavored version to my smoothies, and I literally don’t taste it at all. It makes me feel so good knowing that I’m getting all this nutritious goodness into my body! Also, this brand’s packaging is on point, so that makes me actually want to use it.”
“I forgot how much I loved this tinted moisturizer. The cooling gel-cream formula is filled with good ingredients like hyaluronic acid and squalane that give me this dewy, glazed glow. I love that it also has SPF 30. It’s become a permanent staple in my routine.”
“I recently heard one of my favorite TikTokers rave about this conditioner from Australian haircare brand BondiBoost, so I had to try it out. All I have to say is wow. You know how soft your hair feels after you get it done at the salon? That’s how this conditioner makes it feel. My thick, frizzy strands were left so incredibly soft and silky. It’s my new favorite.”
“With cold weather very much my reality in the Northeast where I live, I always like to stock up on a great hand cream to avoid dried-out winter hands. This hand cream has a clean formula that is light and moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling super soft. However, what I am most impressed with is the beautiful scent—it’s a subtle, fresh floral that lasts throughout the day. I love it so much that I am now tempted to get the matching fragrance.”
“I haven’t been this smitten with a perfume in years. I got a sample of this new Henry Rose scent Menace at a preview a few weeks ago and am already out of it, as I’ve used it so much. It smells like an elevated, more sophisticated version of the Abercrombie & Fitch or Hollister perfumes I was obsessed with in high school. It’s supposed to be a mix of marine notes and musk, with touches of citrus, cypress, and patchouli. I’ve already added the full bottle to my holiday wish list.”
