Fall is coming, and whether or not we’re mentally prepared for the seasonal shift, as true fashion people we’re always ready to update our closets. As with any new season, the chance to do a little shopping and try out a new look or two gets us jazzed but since the pandemic has shifted how we shop, many of us are looking for a few affordable closet updates, not a whole overhaul.

So if you’re lusting after a new fall wardrobe but find yourself on a budget (like me!) then this one goes out to you, my friends. I’ve curated my dream fall-ready shopping cart at various price points from as little as $20 to as much as $80 and filled it with things like cute cardigans, luxurious-looking knits, and fun jewelry items. I even managed to find a Nanushka piece on sale for under $80 (thank me later). Scroll down to shop all my fall basics by price.

I’d wear this with bike shorts to lounge in and then dress it up with the matching knit skirt (and the matching cardigan if I really want to be extra).

Printed mesh tees are at the top of my fall shopping list.

Just as cute as it is useful.

Calling it now—nouveau preppy style will be a big trend this fall.

Low-key, I want to wear this whole outfit.

Silver could be the gold. Yeah, I said it.

I’m very into terry cloth fabric at the moment, so these automatically caught my eye.

I had a hard time deciding whether to pick this in green or black, but ended up going with the green since I think it will be a good canvas for gold jewelry.

Fall is coming—have you secured your cardigan yet?

Relaxed denim is set to be a big fall silhouette.

I love how these make any outfit a touch more sophisticated.

Move over, basic tees.

I like the model’s styling idea and would wear this with sneakers and a tee.

It doesn’t get any chiller or easier to wear than camp shirts.

The matching trousers are just as good.

If you looked up transitional dresses in the dictionary I’m pretty sure this is what you’d find.

Chunky-soled loafers are officially replacing all my other flats.

I can’t get over this fresh take on cable knit.

Open-back tops are the “risky” trend fashion people are majorly pulling off.

A little logo goes a long way.

Wear this with the above beige trousers for the ultimate fall outfit.

I just like the sound of cowboy jeans. And these are about as classic as they come.

There’s something about a new pair of Converse that sets me in a “back to school” mood—student status or not.

And here I thought puff-sleeve tops couldn’t get any better.

So much more special than standard hoops.

If a tank top could be described as elegant, this would be it.

A little motivation to get back into a workout routine is never a bad thing, if you ask me.
