Maria Sharapova has no shortage of projects to keep her busy during post-tennis retirement (a.k.a her Second Life). The 5-time Grand Slam champion runs a candy brand, is planning a wedding, and invests in companies like Supergoop!, Bala Bangles, and Therabody. Her latest endeavor? Sharapova has just partnered with Rove Concepts on a new collection of six home items, all with a serene, minimalist vibe that echos her own California home.
“Design and art have always been passions of mine,” Sharapova told Who What Wear when asked about the decision to work with Rove Concepts. “Traveling for tennis, I always took extra time to explore the architecture and art in cities around the world. I took this personal passion a step further designing my own home a couple of years ago, so when the opportunity to partner with Rove came up, it felt like an exciting new challenge and a great way to continue learning in the design world.”
Even though the calming, streamlined collection seems custom-designed for quarantine life, the collaboration had actually already been brewing by the time the pandemic hit. “We’ve actually been working on the collection for a couple of years now,” told me. “Working with their team was a really collaborative process, one that we put a lot of time, thought and effort into, and I’m so excited to finally share it with everyone.”

“Layer rugs from different styles. Using a jute rug as a foundational base, a smaller Turkish rug on top adds a pop of color and texture to the room.”
“During spring, cherry blossom or forsythia branches in a vase on the kitchen or coffee table,” Sharapova told Who What Wear. “They make for a beautiful centerpiece and reminder that summer is just around the corner.”
“I love fresh paint ahead of a new season,” Sharapova told us. “I’m always on the hunt for the perfect off-white hue. I recently renovated a guest room using Clare in Timeless. Clare is a female-founded, direct-to-consumer business I discovered while searching for toxin-free formulas.”
