If you love shopping on Amazon and wearing skinny jeans (not necessarily while shopping on Amazon), then step into my office. I’ve written a story tailor-made for you. If you’re new to shopping for clothes on Amazon, my advice to you is to start with basics. And if you’re not new to it, I’m here to save you some time. I took three comfortable and affordable basics from Amazon’s in-house brands and paired them with skinny jeans with the goal of creating cool outfits that I would wear out in the world. The verdict? I succeeded and it wasn’t hard at all.

I’m very picky about what I wear with skinny jeans (more so than any other type of jeans). When it comes to tops and sweaters, the boxier the better is my philosophy, so that there’s a contrast with the skintight jeans. The three cozy styles I chose (a sweater, hoodie, and oversized tee) fit the bill perfectly. Scroll to see exactly how I styled the aforementioned basics with skinny jeans and shop them for yourself, along with some of the best skinny jeans on Amazon.

This sweatshirt/T-shirt hybrid was probably my favorite of the bunch. It’s so comfortable and I love the fit and the fact that it’s thin enough to tuck in if you’re so inclined. It really goes with anything but I opted for a preppy cowgirl look with a draped scarf and boots. Wearing: The Drop Kiko Oversized Crew Neck Sweatshirt ($40); Isabel Marant scarf; J Brand jeans; Tecovas The Harper Leather Riding Boots ($275)

It’s been pretty frigid recently, so I put this outfit together for the days when I have to venture outdoors. The oversize wool coat dressed the cropped hoodie up a bit, as did the platform loafers. It’s just a good, easy hoodie that I’m sure I’ll wear over and over. Wearing: Mango Handmade Wool Coat ($200); Goodthreads Heritage Fleece Cropped Long Sleeve Hoodie Sweatshirt ($33); Re/Done 90s Comfort Stretch High-Rise Ankle Crop Skinny Jeans ($240); Prada Leather Logo Loafers ($850)

One of the simplest outfits you can wear is a camel sweater, black skinny jeans, and knee boots. The cute sleeve details made this particular camel sweater a little more special. I also love that the neck is open enough to layer a cute collared shirt underneath. Wearing: Goodthreads Mid-Gauge Stretch Long Ruffle Sleeve Scoop Neck Sweater ($35); J Brand Maria High-Rise Skinny Jeans in Vane ($228); Totême The Wide Shaft Boot ($800)
