August’s arrival has me finally starting to think about fall. Specifically, I’m pondering my fall travel plans and what to pack. I do the bulk of my seasonal shopping when I have a trip ahead of me. Whether that’s wise or not, I don’t know. But I do at least attempt to shop for things I know I’ll wear throughout the coming months.

Zara has historically been one of my go-to brands for pre-trip shopping, and I’ve recently added J.Crew to that list (you may have heard the retailer’s offerings have been quite good lately). While perusing both sites this week, I couldn’t help but think about what I’d like to wear for my future fall travels. These 32 items are it.

Below you’ll find lightweight jackets and sweaters, skirts, shoes, accessories, and more—all of which would be ideal for cozy autumn trips. Scroll to start shopping because the early bird gets the worm.

This versatile top can easily be dressed up or down.

This would look so pretty with the aforementioned cardigan.

Finding lightweight jackets is hard, so here’s a good one.

The perfect summer-to-fall transitional shoes.

The vest top trend will still be everywhere come fall.

Great for a night out when you still want to keep things simple.

Another lightweight jacket I highly recommend.

Obviously necessary (and in an It color, no less).

I plan on going up a couple sizes in these so that they have a similar fit to the model’s pair.

The only necklace you need to pack.

Perfect for the plane.

If you want to throw in a pair of heels, these would be ideal.

For layering or wearing on its own, depending on the weather.

I like that this is more polished than the frayed-hem denim maxi skirts.

This doubles as a jacket.

Perfect for throwing on under a blazer for an evening out.

The styling possibilities are endless.

I like that the gold buttons dress it up a bit.

For wearing this fall and every other fall from here on out.

You need this dress if your travel philosophy is “comfort is key.”

So many cool outfits will begin with this skirt.

A great skirt for night or day, and it won’t take up much precious suitcase space.

If you’re someone who packs a lot of neutrals, these will be the perfect addition to your travel wardrobe.

This is 100% cotton, so it could even work for more mild days.

If polished denim is the goal, consider it accomplished.

These polished sneakers would look so chic with jeans and sweaters.

Far chicer than your average T-shirt.

The perfect pop of color.

What a chic travel tote this would make.

If you’re into the Western aesthetic, this shirt is for you.

This is the only handbag you’ll need to pack.

This will certainly come in handy for more rugged trips.
