Congrats—you’ve made it through another winter. In due time (hopefully sooner than later) puffers and bulky boots will be a thing of the past, so let’s shift focus to a few spring trends to celebrate the occasion. From fuzzy textures to small wonders, we’ve already seen this season’s handbags take shape in several diverse forms. But of course, it’s not just the silhouettes that we’re excited about–plenty of saturated shades are also on the menu. While it’s expected to see loads of punchy pigments on the spring runways (like bubblegum pink and kelly green in 2021), we’ve noticed a gang of new colors frequently popping up across a gambit of designers like Burberry, Bottega Veneta, and Balenciaga.

In step with last year’s focus on rich, bold hues, colors like cerulean blue and Barbie pink are superseding delicate pastels as the dominant handbag colors of 2022. There are a few more trending colors in the mix too, so get settled and keep scrolling to read our predictions of the tones winning spring 2022. Fair warning: get to know them because our crystal ball tells us that you’ll be seeing a lot more of them soon.

Shifting from the pastel color family of last season, lime green has taken a back seat to the intensity of granny smith apple green. You can blame Bottega Veneta for this one–the color was featured heavily alongside its signature Bottega Green during its S/S 22′ show.

From stick of butter dressing to stick of butter bags—here’s an unexpected shade we’re excited to see more of. If you want to smile all day long, carry this soothing shade of yellow. Designers from Chanel to Christian Dior and Max Mara have embraced margarine yellow within their accessories collections.

With an intensity that feels like a mirror into the waters of the French Riveria, cerulean blue has made quite an arrival at the spring shows. This was another shade Christian Dior leaned on for its colorful spring handbag collection. If you’re in the market for a real statement bag, this color is it.

A true power color, lipstick red is another shade we’re seeing hit big this season. Prada sent every single look from its spring collection down the runway accompanied by a red bag, so the proof is pretty much in the pudding. Use it as a replacement for your black handbags to spice up an outfit–you truly can’t go wrong.

Suddenly I’m envisioning flashbacks to my childhood days of playing with my Barbie Dreamhouse. It seems like warm pink hues are taking over in fashion right now, and I can’t say I’m mad. For those wanting to experiment with their accessories this season, try this striking color to add some visual interest to an outfit of basics.

This shade hits that sweet spot between tangerine orange and mustard yellow, so if you’re looking for a color to wake up your senses, you’ll want to add marigold to your collection, stat. This juicy shade of orange feels bright, optimistic, and fun—really just what we need heading into the spring.

A major trend last spring, powder blue is still holding strong into the new year. While it is certainly quieter than the colors on this list, you’ll be surprised to find how versatile this shade really is when styled with your favorite outfits.
