I’ve owned a pair of dark gray suede Arizona Birkenstock sandals for years. I’ve been keeping them in a basket of sandals in a corner of my closet. But since I’m prioritizing comfort more than ever right now, and upon seeing so many chic Birkenstock outfits on so many stylish people on Instagram, I’ve recently moved them to a prominent place on my shoe shelf, and have been wearing them more than ever.
Deep into my Birkenstock outfit rabbit hole, I realized that there are a lot of similarities in the types of items women are wearing the ultimate comfort sandals with. The eight trends below are both easy to wear and perfectly complement the casual-cool feel of Birkenstocks (and Birkenstock-style sandals) so well that I, for one, plan on combining them all summer long (now that my trusty old Birkenstocks have a new prominent place on my shelf). And after writing this story, I’m convinced I need another pair, so I included some of the ones I’m contemplating at the end, just in case you’re in the same boat.
Pleated pants are the perfect thing to trade your jeans for come summer. Combined with Birkenstocks, they look perfectly effortless and cool.
