Working in a fashion office is kind of like real-life Instagram. It’s a feast for the eyes filled with cool fashion looks, but instead of looking at influencers, we get to look at fashionable co-workers, and instead of liking and commenting on photos, we get to compliment each other profusely face-to-face. (Now there’s a thought!)
It’s always fun to see how a relaxed creative office does chic workwear style and what nifty pieces my colleagues are sporting each season. So today, I’ve decided to hone in on some of our team’s coolest looks we wore to the office this month. Now that the weather is finally warming up, we’re turning to summer-appropriate pieces. Think minimalist sandals, breezy blouses, and lightweight jackets. So fix yourself an iced latte, put on Rihanna’s “Work,” and scroll through for some sartorial office inspo.
I’m a huge fan of tweed and bouclé, no matter the season, and this chic, polished, and pretty tweed Maje dress is one of my favorite pieces to wear to work this summer. It’s professional yet playful and takes me from morning meetings to after-work margaritas in utmost style. I usually wear it with a pair of simple flats, but it also looks really cool with a pair of minimalist mules or flatform sporty sandals, depending on the look you’re going for.
In summer, I prefer breezy blouses in looser silhouettes. This Dôen top is polished yet playful and has the prettiest vintage print. I’m pairing it with my high-waisted jeans or beige pants at work this season.
“I mostly wear jeans, so I’m always looking to elevate my denim outfits a bit for the office. Right now, it’s with a pair of pleated jeans that give a nod to the ’80s.”
“In the summer, I tend to go all in on my neutral tones. Cream trousers and a white top make for an easy combo I can wear over and over again.”
“I’ve been wearing a cool transitional jacket before the real summer starts in NYC. I’ll style it with jeans and flat sandals and then swap into heels at night for an event.”
“Summer suits have been on heavy rotation this season. There’s something about a lightweight fabric and a light-tan color that makes it feel perfect for warm weather while still being completely appropriate for the office.”
“During the summer, floral tops always re-enter my wardrobe. I can’t resist the styles at Reformation with puffy sleeves, sweetheart necklines, and beautiful prints.”
“I usually work from home, so I don’t have a lot of typical work clothes. For that reason, when I do get the chance to visit one of our offices, I usually wear jeans, my current favorite top, and heels.”
“This is my office look when it’s raining out and I want to wear something interesting!”
