Few designer brands are as wildly influential as Bottega Veneta, Prada, and Gucci at this moment in time. When they put something fresh and new on the runway, dozens of brands follow suit, and then we have ourselves a trendF/W 2020 was no exception to that. But when designers sent their collections down the runway back in February and early March, little did we know that our lives were about to change significantly.

While we may not have the same wardrobe needs that we usually do in the fall this year, we still want to know what the trends are so that we can selectively choose which ones we’re going to add to our wardrobes. And there’s no better place to suss them out than the runways of these It brands.

Another Who What Wear editor favorite, sweater vests are a trend we’re welcoming into our fall wardrobes with open arms. It’s the perfect thing to put on when it’s not quite cold enough for a full-on sweater yet.

One of the biggest predicaments we have when trying to stay warm is how to avoid bulky outerwear. Luckily, Prada offered up a solution by making belted coats a thing.

Little bows added a sweet touch to many of Gucci’s fall looks, and it’s one of the easiest trends to adopt there is this season. You can always just order a spool of black ribbon on Amazon and get crafty.

Fancy gloves (i.e. sheer tulle gloves, opera gloves, and lace gloves, to name a few) are one of those signature maximalist Gucci trends we all know and love. They may not be practical, but they’re memorable.

We’re not used to seeing denim trends on the Gucci runways so when we do, we definitely notice. If it seems like distressed denim has really made a comeback this year (and it has), you can thank Gucci in part.
