Welcome to Weekday Wardrobe, a series in which one Who What Wear editor or staffer will snap a pic of their 9-to-5 look each day and break down where you can shop it all to inspire your own everyday style.
While it’s only been a few short months, it feels like it was years ago when I worked alongside my stylish co-workers at the WWW headquarters, and honestly, I miss it a lot. I miss our daily chats in the kitchen. I miss our afternoon coffee runs, and I miss being inspired by their cool office attire. We’ve all been keeping up on Instagram and video chatting regularly. (Often asking each other to zoom out and show off the rest of their cute at-home outfit, of course.)
Not that there is any pressure to dress up during this time, but one of my co-workers Nicole has really impressed me with her WFH ‘fits lately. She’s ditched loungewear almost entirely and instead transitioned to comfortable but chic (but still comfortable!) summer looks. And since she also happens to be our company’s social strategist, you know her outfits are Instagram-friendly. Check them out below.
“Clearly the tie-dye trend isn’t going away anytime soon, so I’m very pleased that I’ve been able to wear this tee I bought last summer over and over again! I love how it looks with the wash and fit of these jeans (PS: Levi’s Wedgie Icon Fit jeans are amazing if you’re looking for a new pair!) and my black slides. I’m not going to lie: This is also the outfit I live in over the weekends for all my social-distancing activities.”
“For a lazier day when I don’t feel like putting on a full-on ‘fit, I love this white sweatshirt with these Hanes biker shorts my co-worker recommended from Amazon. It’s such an easy look to throw on and still somehow look put together (in my opinion), especially if I keep on my gold necklaces and bracelets to add some polish and a bit of glam. If I’m running out to get some air or a coffee to break up my day, I just slide on these Havaianas sandals and I’m good to go!”
“I’ll be perfectly honest: I don’t tend to wear dresses all that much when working from home. However, when I want to feel “normal” (aka dress like I would if I were going into the office), it doesn’t hurt to put on something that feels a bit more special, like this black, voluminous dress. The silhouette is super easy-to-wear, and the sleeve details add some intrigue to my look (and my day). I styled it with simple black loafers, but you can easily wear sneakers, strappy sandals, or flip flops, and it would look equally as cute.”
This is my go-to outfit when I’m planning to spend a little time outside and want to embrace summer in full. The puff-sleeve top makes me feel a little more put together than usual, and I love how it looks with lighter-wash denim shorts. (TBH, I live in these any time the weather gets warm.) I also sized up in this pair of shorts, so they’re comfortable enough to wear all day. To complete the look, I added my favorite Carrie Forbes woven sandals and everyday gold jewelry, plus some new beaded favorites.
“Anyone who sees me regularly knows I love a good skirt-and-tee combo. One of my more out-of-the-box looks consists of this easy, breezy floral skirt and graphic tee. The combo is a little bolder and mismatched than I would usually go for, but it’s a fun summer outfit and super easy to work in as well. If I’m headed out of the house for any reason, I just add these neutral sandals (one of the best summer purchases I’ve ever made—I might add) and my outfit is complete!”
