Would you believe me if I told you I’m new to the SPF game? Until 2020, sunscreen and I had an on and off relationship. (Don’t judge me.) I’d wear it at the beach or pool a few times a year, but I definitely didn’t commit to wearing it daily. Luckily, I’ve come to my senses and tried a multitude of SPF products over the last few years.
Sephora has been my go-to spot for just about everything beauty-related for as long as I can remember, so naturally, I added SPF to that list and haven’t looked back. At this point, it feels wrong to walk past a Sephora without at least doing a quick sweep for the latest and greatest. Now that we’re on the heels of summer, I turned to some of my favorite content creators for their SPF recommendations from Sephora, and they did not disappoint. Below, we have mineral sunscreen, SPF sticks, tinted sunscreen, and body mists all priced between $15 and $55. I recommend heading to Sephora ASAP to peruse the skincare section for these products.
“I used to think SPF was overrated, but as I’ve fallen in love with skincare, I’ve learned how crucial it is as the final step in your routine. It’s so important for all the other skincare steps you take prior to work! Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Hydrating Moisturizer SPF 45 ($55) gives me hydration and protection and never leaves me greasy. I’ve been using it on the daily in all my travels, and I love how it turns into this water consistency that melts into my skin. Dr. Jart’s Premium BB Tinted Moisturizer With Niacinamide and SPF 40 ($44) comes in four shades and is a game changer for minimal makeup days or as a primer. It leaves my skin so beautiful with a glow. I’ve been at the beach back home in Costa Rica, and it’s all I’ve been using. I get so many compliments on the glowy finish it gives, and it still looks like I have some coverage. This product is magic, but it doesn’t surprise me because it’s filled with amazing ingredients such as niacinamide for my skin’s barrier and glycerin for hydration and moisture. I don’t have to think about it—it’s a one- or two-step process that doesn’t take any extra time.”
“I am in a committed relationship with sunscreen. I have worn it for as long as I can remember because my mom always instilled the importance of sun protection in me while growing up. I have been using the Supergoop! Glow Screen ($38) for years and always come back to it. Anyone that knows me knows I love a glowy finish, and this sunscreen gives you that glowing-from-the-inside look. It’s also available in four shades. The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Dewy Sunscreen ($15) quickly became one of my absolute favorites. You cannot beat the price point, it’s super hydrating, and I love the dewy finish it leaves on the skin. Sephora is the go-to spot for all beauty products, but I love going to Sephora for my suncare products specifically because they have such a wide selection of products to choose from: tinted, mineral, chemical, powder—you name it, and they have it.”
“I grew up in Hawaii, so sunscreen is always necessary in my daily life, especially in the summer. I usually wear it daily with or without makeup! The Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick ($30) is so convenient and applies so easily with or without makeup, and the Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen ($16) is the perfect makeup base! I don’t have to plan my routine around it—it fits right in. Both products have an amazing texture and finish. They don’t leave my skin feeling oily or with a weird smell! They’re so lightweight—I love them! Sephora has the absolute best variety. It carries the best products across the board, so I know it will have the product for me.”
“I am a die-hard SPF user. It’s applied before makeup, and it’s in my foundation products. I believe it’s the key to staying young. I have sensitive skin, so I don’t like when products have super-long ingredient lists. (It freaks me out.) I love the natural, glowy, lightweight finish that both the Soleil Toujour Clean Conscious Body Sunscreen Mist ($36) and Summer Fridays ShadeDrops Mineral Milk Sunscreen ($36) have. They pair together very nicely and don’t leave any films. I didn’t expect for them to smell so good. I like how they aren’t overpowering with that typical sunscreen smell. It’s very easy to incorporate them into my everyday skincare routine.”
