There are certain wardrobe items that, no matter how much it pains you to store them away post summer, are seasonal, and sadly, not suitable for year-round use. Flip flops are one of them, as are crochet dresses and most items made of linen. They have their time in the sun (literally) and then get properly stowed throughout fall, winter, and some of spring.

Until recently, white, A-line skirts would’ve met the same fate. Then Prada’s fall/winter 2023 collection came out, showcasing a bevy of styling maneuvers capable of keeping the summer staple alive throughout the colder months. All you need are some neutral knits, a leather blazer, and a pair of equally summery white kitten heels. Now, you’ll have to tear my white skirts from my cold, winter-weather dry hands. Even then, I’ll hold on tight.

I can only imagine that others feel the same, especially loyal fans of the silhouette like Laura Harrier, who posted a slideshow on Instagram on Monday wearing one while sipping a matcha latte outside of an LA cafe. “Fully switched from coffee to matcha, my LA assimilation is complete,” the caption reads. With it, she appropriately kept things pretty summery, wearing a white, cropped tube top, a cord necklace, The Row flip flops, and oval sunglasses. But, with next season’s drop in temperatures, I see no reason why her exact skirt couldn’t be entirely reworked to become a fall mainstay too. Scroll down to see her look and shop all of the white, A-line skirts that I’m considering adding to my wardrobe ahead of autumn.

Eyelet’s another summer detail that I would usually suggest storing away in the fall, though this skirt is changing my mind rather quickly.

Once you have it, you might as well wear it all the time.

I’ve been dying to get my hands on this Reformation skirt (and never let go) ever since I tried it on earlier this summer.

Going with denim is genius if you want your skirt to really be practical 365 days a year.

I own this skirt, and let me tell you, it’s perfect.

Just easy.

This skirt is the definition of beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it.

There are so many possibilities.

I love the lower rise on this one.

As you can see, boots look just as good with a flowy, white skirt as flip flops do.

I really do need this whole set.

When a summer fling turns into a full-blown relationship.

I’m making a linen exception for this Eileen Fisher skirt because it’s that good.

This one has the durability of denim with the billowiness of cotton.

Wow.

Oh, you need this one from Free People.

I’ve already sent this Staud skirt to my entire team.

Proenza Schouler can do no wrong. I should get that tattooed given how much I say it.

If the above Khaite denim skirt is a bit outside of your fall budget, try this one from Banana Republic instead.

The leather trim makes this skirt feel like an obvious pick for fall.
