It’s 2020 and, despite what the first few months of the year may have you feeling, love is still in the air—especially when it comes to some of our fave celeb couples who are continuing to tie the knot. And we couldn’t be more excited. Because honestly, what’s better than a celebrity wedding (besides a celeb baby, obvi)? Nothing, that’s what. From longtime lovers who are making it offish, to surprise couples and secret weddings, we’ll be following along and celebrating some of our favourite Hollywood couples as they head into holy matrimony. Because we all need a little joy and love right now; plus, you just know these weddings are all going to be over the top—and who doesn’t want to see *that* on their timeline?
Sean Penn and Leila George
Sean Penn is a married man for the third time! During an August 3 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Penn confirmed that he’d married his longtime girlfriend, actor and philanthropist Leila George, in an intimate ceremony at home on July 30. “We did a COVID wedding,” Penn told Meyers, holding up his left hand to show off his wedding ring. “By that I mean it was a county commissioner on Zoom and we were at the house with my two children and her brother, and we did it that way.”
The couple have been linked since at least 2016, when the pair made their first red carpet debut.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, weddings around the world are being cancelled, postponed or changed dramatically—and that includes royal weddings too. After postponing their May wedding, Princess Beatrice of York and her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi tied the knot in an intimate secret wedding on July 17. According to People, the couple wed in front of 20 guests at All Saint’s Chapel in Windsor Great Park. The small group of guests included the newlywed’s parents and siblings, as well as Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth II, Beatrice’s grandparents. The sweetest part? Beatrice wore a vintage Norman Hartnell gown that belonged to her grandmother as well as the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara that Queen Elizabeth wore to her very own wedding in 1947.
Dennis Quaid and Laura Savoie
On June 24, actor Dennis Quaid revealed that he as fiancée Laura Savoie are married—and they eloped! The couple—who have a 39-year age gap—were initially scheduled to be married in Hawaii in April, but had to postpone due to COVID-19. Instead of waiting for next year to tie the knot, the duo were privately married on June 2 in Santa Barbara, California.
The couple have been engaged since October 2019, after meeting in May of that year at a business event. Savoie is a PhD student at the University of Texas. This is Quaid’s fourth marriage.
Congrats to the couple!
Raven-Symoné and Miranda Pearman-Maday
Actor Raven-Symone has announced that she’s married! The That’s So Raven star took to Instagram on June 16 to share that she’d married longtime love Miranda Pearman-Maday. “I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home,” Symone captioned an IG photo of the couple hugging after their nuptials. “I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday! Let’s tear this world a new asshole!!! I’s married NOW.” The couple’s intimate ceremony—which was held in Grey’s Anatomy star Debbie Allen’s garden—had only six guests and featured the brides in über chic jumpsuits.
Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell
On March 25, Bindi Irwin—daughter of late Australian zookeeper Steve Irwin—said “I do” in her dad’s empty zoo. Just hours before Australia put a ban on large weddings in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, Irwin and her fiancée Chandler Powell were married with almost no guests (just the bride’s mom and brother!). “We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding,” Irwin wrote in a post to Instagram. “This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe.”
The bride shared that the couple and Irwin family also lit a candle in her dad’s honour.
Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail
Congratulations are in order for actor Michelle Williams, who has tied the knot with her Fosse/Verdon director-turned-love Thomas Kail! Photos obtained by the Daily Mail show the 39-year-old actor, who is expecting her first child with Kail, out and about in NYC earlier in March sporting not only her super cute bump, but a new gold wedding band as well.
Kail was also spotted with a gold band on his ring finger. The couple, who met on the set of the series in November 2018, reportedly became engaged in December 2019.
Williams was most recently married to musician Phil Elverum; the couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in July 2018. In April 2019, People reported that the pair had separated.
Williams was previously in a relationship with late actor Heath Ledger, with whom she had a daughter, 14-year-old Matilda.

Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland
This wedding was Pitch Perfect! On March 14, actor Brittany Snow tied the knot with her longtime BF, realtor Tyler Stanaland. The couple–who met via mutual friends and got to know each other on Instagram—celebrated with a “low-key and not stuffy” ceremony in Malibu, per People.
Congrats to the newlyweds!
Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters
Eternal Baywatch icon, model, actor and activist Pamela Anderson married A Star is Born producer Jon Peters, whom she first dated 30 years ago, in a private Malibu ceremony on January 20. Anderson, 52, and Peters, 74, met in the Playboy Mansion in the mid-1980s when Anderson had just moved to Los Angeles from B.C. Peters funded her acting, dance and voice lessons while helping to launch her career. He even proposed, but she declined. At the time, he told her that “in 30 years, our age difference won’t mean so much.” And the man was right!
This is the fifth marriage for both of them. Anderson’s exes include Kid Rock and Tommy Lee, the father of her two kids. Peters previously dated Lesley Ann Warren and Barbra Streisand. He told The Hollywood Reporter after the ceremony that “there is much more to [Pamela] than meets the eye, or I wouldn’t love her so much. There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but—for 35 years—I’ve only wanted Pamela.”

For her part, Anderson sent a poem to THR as comment:
“Jon is the original ‘bad boy’ of Hollywood –
no one compares –
I love him deeply like family.
His life used to scare me.
So much for a girl like me.
Now I’ve seen more of life
and realize ..
He’s been there all along.
Never failed me –
I’m ready now
and
he’s ready too –
We
understand
and respect each other –
We love each other
without conditions. –
I’m a lucky woman. –
Proof
God has a plan”
Best of luck to the new (old?) couple!
