Welcome to Weekday Wardrobe, a series in which one Who What Wear editor or staffer will snap a pic of their 9-to-5 look each day and break down where you can shop it all to inspire your own everyday style.
Gone (well, almost) are the days of rolling out of bed and staying in the pajama set I bought the moment our office announced we were indefinitely WFH. Ah, yes, now I force myself to get up and put on real clothes for all the things: Zoom meetings! To-go cocktails for date night! Even… the grocery store! And you know what? It’s completely changed my whole attitude.
But don’t get it twisted, I’m still wearing comfortable pieces (aka lots of cotton) that are lightweight and breathable. As we’re currently dealing with in-between weather, the fabric is the first thing I check any time I shop for something new. To show you what I mean, I did my Who What Wear editor duty and documented the five looks I wore throughout the week to provide a little inspiration for an at-home outfit glow-up. Keep scrolling…
Okay, I know what you’re thinking. Jeans? A button-down? But Mondays are the days where my calendar looks the most blue, meaning I have meetings on meetings. And I like to feel put-together! I paired this breezy white top with jeans, sandals, and a purse (I’m not going to lie: Your girl really misses handbags) to keep it pretty casual but still feel like I was on my game.
My roommate and I have a weekly tradition of grabbing margaritas from our local Mexican restaurant to watch with our favorite reality shows. (It’s quite the evening!) For this look, I opted for what has been my most-loved item of the year: my muscle tee. Paired with my trusty vintage jeans and snakeskin booties, I felt rather chic.
On Wednesdays, when the day doesn’t feel too hectic, a co-worker and I like to meet at a coffee shop near both of our apartments. This particular day was a bit cooler, so I got to break out a couple warmer staples. Call me basic, but I love to feel cozy when I’m drinking a latte, so this chunky cardigan seemed like a no-brainer to me.
I made it very clear to my S/O at the beginning of the Q: Date nights must go on! Even though we don’t get to sit at our go-to restaurants all the time, we do get a lot of takeout. We ordered from a fancier Italian joint this night, so I decided it was time to actually throw on a dress and heels. I felt super cute, and I definitely surprised my date.
On Fridays, I usually finish up a little early, so I like to get my errands done before the weekend starts. I always get dressed for this first thing in the morning, because similar to working out, if I’m not already dressed for it, I will never do it. As you can see, I like to keep it pretty casual with jeans and sneakers (and my hair is nine times out of 10 never washed, hence the Yankees hat).
