The implementation of quality control orders (QCOs) on non-cotton textile raw materials in India has been criticised by downstream industry for fostering monopolies among a few producers and making the industry uncompetitive globally.
Industry leaders have urged the government to reconsider the QCOs to ensure a supply of raw materials at competitive prices.
