India’s North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation recently received the OEKO-TEX certification from Germany for its eri silk.
OEKO-TEX ensures textiles are tested for harmful substances and produced in environment-friendly conditions.
This positions the silk as a leading eco-friendly fabric in the global market, the government said.
