UK retail sales grew by 2.0 per cent year-on-year in the five weeks between August 25 and September 28, higher than the 1.2 per cent three-month and 1.1 per cent twelve-month averages.
Non-food sales saw a 0.3 per cent decline over three months but grew in September.
Online non-food sales increased 3.4 per cent year-on-year, while the online penetration rate rose to 35.6 per cent.
