The Philippines has $8.3 billion worth untapped export opportunities in the EU market that can be addressed by the proposed FTA, a top official of the former’s trade and industry department said after the issue was recently discussed at the resumption of the FTA talks in Brussels.
The Philippines aims to continue the preferential arrangement with the EU once the former exits the EU GSP+ scheme.
