The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways announced over ₹57,000 crore (~$6.84 billion) for Kandla Port’s expansion.
Key projects include a ₹30,000 crore (~$3.6 billion) mega shipbuilding facility producing 32 ships annually and a ₹27,000 crore (~$3.24 billion) cargo terminal adding 135 MTPA.
Additional projects include new oil jetties, and enhanced liquid cargo handling at other ports.
