Terming fresh US tariffs a ‘national crisis’, Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba today said he is prepared to hold cross-party talks on mitigating the impact.
He called for a ‘calm-headed’ approach to talks with the US.
A Japanese government spokesman said the tariffs are ‘extremely regrettable’ and that Japan has ‘serious concerns’ about whether they comply with WTO rules and US-Japan trade pacts.
