American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has criticised the expiry of AGOA and Haiti’s HOPE/HELP trade preference programmes on September 30, warning of harmful delays amid US government shutdown.
For over two decades, these schemes have boosted US–Africa and US–Haiti textile trade, supported American cotton exports, and provided sourcing alternatives to China.
