AAFA has urged President Joe Biden to intervene in stalled negotiations between the USMX and ILA, warning of a potential disruption to East and Gulf Coast ports if a labour contract isn’t reached by the end of September.
The disruption could cause severe backlogs, shortages, and price surges, affecting 53 per cent of US apparel and footwear imports, especially during the peak holiday season.
