Australia’s imports of apparel and clothing accessories rose by 9.64 per cent to Au$7.852 billion (~$4.971 billion) in July 2024–January 2025, while textile imports also increased.
However, fibre imports declined by 9.45 per cent.
In January 2025, imports showed a MoM rise, but textile fibre exports fell by 13.52 per cent.
Fiscal 2023–24 saw declines in both textile imports and fibre exports.
