Canada has ‘no intention’ of pursuing an FTA with China, according to Prime Minister Mark Carney, who recently said his country remains bound by commitments under the Canada-US -Mexico Agreement, which restricts FTAs with non-market economies without prior notification.
China, meanwhile, said the new ‘strategic partnership’ with Canada is not meant to undercut other countries.
