The first batch of equipment and machinery recently arrived at China-Zambia joint venture (JV) Mulungushi Textiles factory in the central Zambian town of Kabwe.
The unit, which ceased operations in 2007, will resume production after a 17-year hiatus, creating about 500 direct jobs.
The reopening is expected to revitalise the domestic cotton industry.
