Bangladesh recently published the new tariff schedule for goods and vessels at Chittagong Port, raising charges by an average of 40 per cent.
The new tariffs were effective from September 15, a gazette notification said.
Port users and shipping agents had earlier conveyed to the authorities that a 40-per cent hike in tariffs on goods and vessels would raise the cost of doing business and prices of goods.
