Bangladesh has urged the US to grant a temporary waiver allowing the former to buy Russian oil, saying the measure is needed to safeguard its energy supplies and support the economy, the former’s Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said.
The request seeks an arrangement similar to the one for India.
Discussions with US officials also covered energy cooperation, investment and trade.
