India’s first CO2-to-Methanol pilot plant (1.4 TPD capacity) was unveiled in Pune, led by Department of Science and Technology, IIT Delhi, and Thermax.
The project, costing ₹31 crore ($3.72 million), focuses on Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies.
It aligns with national goals like Atmanirbhar Bharat and aims to decarbonise coal-based sectors while reducing emissions.
