Last year, Dan Levy served as one of the judges for Etsy’s first-ever Design Awards and when we spoke to him on the phone about it, the multi-hyphenate revealed that many of the costume and set pieces we’ve seen on his Emmy-winning show Schitt’s Creek were in fact sourced from Etsy.
“For a very long time I didn’t have the financial means to just go into a store and buy stuff. So if I saw something I liked I would often turn to Etsy to try and find it or to try and recreate it,” he said. “Particularly in our sixth season I found some truly remarkable, outrageous accessories for Catherine [O’Hara]… I think it’s an invaluable resource for people who are really interested in personalized, artisanal work, and buying directly from artists and getting to read about their stories and how they’ve gotten to where they’ve gotten to.”
I found this headpiece on Etsy. Few things have made me feel as exhilarated. https://t.co/IVEtqlCBP8

So it makes sense that this year the actor has teamed up with Etsy again, this time using his keen eye to curate a a selection of gifts that shoppers can peruse and purchase from this holiday season.
“As a longtime fan of Etsy, I’m so excited to be able to share some of my favourite finds this holiday season—items that are sure to make special gifts for everyone in your life (including yourself!),” Levy says in a statement. “With every item sourced from small, LGBTQIA+ owned and BIPOC-owned businesses, I hope this guide inspires buyers to shop from diverse, small businesses, who need our support more than ever this holiday season.”
Many of his picks, which start at just $13, are from Canadian sellers and include items such as a concrete ring-holder tray, a pair of handmade beaded earrings and a set of handmade soaps. Browse through the Etsy wares handpicked by Dan Levy here.
