The European Commission has introduced new measures under the ESPR to curb the destruction of unsold apparel, accessories and footwear, requiring disclosure of discarded goods and banning such practices for large companies from July 19, 2026.
Standardised reporting begins February 01, 2027.
The move targets textile waste, promotes reuse and circularity, and aims to reduce emissions across Europe.
