As the US raised tariffs on global steel and aluminum imports to 25 per cent yesterday, traditional US allies like Canada, the EU, the UK, Australia and Japan criticised the move.
Canada and the EU announced retaliatory tariffs.
China accused the US of violating WTO rules and said it would take ‘all necessary measures’ to protect its rights and interests.
It announced new tariffs in return.
