The European Council has adopted mandates to implement tariff commitments under the August 21, 2025, EU-US joint statement, removing duties on US industrial goods.
Safeguards were added, including monitoring, a stronger bilateral mechanism and clearer rules of origin.
The Council is now ready to begin trilogue talks with the Parliament.
