The EU has reached a provisional deal to tighten rules on textile and food waste under a revised waste framework directive.
It introduces an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for textile producers and binding targets to cut food waste by 2030.
Microenterprises get extra time to comply.
The deal awaits formal approval, with EU states given 20 months to implement the changes.
