My style has certainly seen a shift in the past few years, and one major change is that I’m prioritizing practicality more than ever. I used to be one who always would immediately purchase a fun statement item but would end up disappointed when it would only get worn a handful of times. I’ve started to invest in wardrobe staples that are pared-back and skew more minimal, but I’m still getting my dose of trend in the accessory department. That brings me to my 2022 accessory of choice: beaded handbags.

I’m not surprised beaded handbags have made a resurgence. I remember being completely enamored by the Susan Alexandra bags that were championed by pretty much every cool fashion person in 2019. Today’s reiterations of the trend by brands like Staud and Kara have me just as excited. The beaded bag offering has only increased since then, and it’s hard to choose just one. (I shamelessly own four.) Even though they’re a bit quirky, they seamlessly go with any outfit—whether it’s a basic tee and jeans or a party dress on a night out. Read ahead for my favorite beaded bags at the moment.

I got this bag only a few weeks ago and I’ve already worn it more times than I count. Even when I was wearing a simple button-down and jeans, this bag immediately made my outfit look more interesting.

The ultimate party bag, and it’s under $100.

Brandon Blackwood’s trunk bags are a fashion crowd favorite, and I predict these new beaded bags will be loved just as much.

Calling all brides-to-be—you need this bag.

A tote bag that’s anything but boring.

Warning: there will be a lot of Staud bags in this story, because one is just never enough.

A retro vibe.

I’m a big fan of checkered print, so this bag is calling my name.

An event-worthy clutch.

Funky.

If the black-and-white option doesn’t suit your fancy, they have a sorbet themed one for your consideration.

For the non-traditional bride.

This would pair so well with a LBD.

Punchy colors are it for the summer.

This bag is teeny in size, but it’ll add a big statement to any look.

How can you resist something so fun?

Joy in a bag.

This was made for the summer.

“She’s you’re lobster” is all I can think of when I see this bag, and I think that says a lot about my personality.

Your phone deserves to be accessorized.

This is art.

Kitschy but cute.
