Whenever I’m not sure what to wear, I turn to the IG feeds of my favorite New York and Parisian fashion people for some inspiration. They’ve never failed to deliver something shockingly wearable that I can copy with what I have in my own closet. I’m also always shopping for their looks which tend to be as effortlessly chic as can be.

We’ve reached a point in the year where everyone is getting a little bit tired of their winter wardrobe. Blue jeans and a sweater aren’t as exciting as they were in November. So below, I share with you 8 new ways to wear your favorite jeans as inspired by the outfits worn by Parisians and New Yorkers.

I’m a New Yorker in my Marie Antoinette era and Parisians are loving frilly blouses just as much as I am. If you’re planning to wear jeans to a nice dinner or to the office, adding a blouse is the perfect way to make your look feel elevated.

It was an immediate add-to-cart for me.

I got so many compliments on this top when I wore it the other day.

Something about this top makes me want to dance amongst billowy hills.

My kind of going out top.

When I pitched this story I immediately thought of bomber jackets. The bomber jacket is the staple that is currently bringing us New Yorkers and Parisians together. We all just can’t get enough of it. There’s an effortless vibe that we’re all after and it’s the easiest way to achieve it.

This one is so spot on.

You heard it here first. This is the next Zara bomber that will takeover the internet.

Who What Wear readers love this bomber.

A classic take on the wardrobe staple.

It may seem obvious but it’s so worth noting. You won’t find a New Yorker or a Parisian who doesn’t wear a white button-down shirt on a weekly basis. We just love them that much. Throwing a sweater over your shoulder instantly takes it to the next level.

I’m all about these pinstripes.

This top is everything.

An instant classic.

This one is giving ’90s.

When I was stalking the French girls on Instagram to do some research for this story, I couldn’t find one of them who wasn’t wearing an aviator jacket. This staple has taken over the country which totally makes sense. I can’t think of a more cozy outerwear option.

I need one in black and this one has my full attention.

An extra dose of shearling.

But how good is this color combination?

I knew before I started my search that I would lay eyes on a tailored vest. It’s simply a must for fashion people. I love the idea of wearing a denim one to match your jeans but a tailored option also never fails me.

The fact that this comes as a matching set takes all of the heavy lifting off of my plate.

Absolute perfection.

There’s just something about a waistcoat in black.

She’s so pretty.

The Canadian tuxedo has taken over the street-style scene as of late. It’s hard for me to open up the Instagram app lately without finding an effortlessly paired denim jacket and pants look. This is the easiest way to look like a Parisian or New Yorker in seconds.

This oversized shirt is goals.

This looks super vintage and cool.

You’ve never seen a Canadian tuxedo like this.

Cropped is always a good idea.

An elevated approach to Y2K starts with a halter top. This cool girl fashion piece will be just as powerful as the sculptural tube top trend that we’re about to see takeover. I think everyone will be wearing it by summer.

I’ve had my eye on this one for a minute.

This is something Paris Hilton would’ve worn in the early 2000s.

Leather lady.

It’s the simple things.

Blazers are always a must when styling out your denim and a silhouette I’ve seen takeover recently is the boxy style. At New York Fashion Week, it was all over the runways and I’m already seeing it on the streets of New York and Paris. It’s high-key a must buy.

Tailored to perfection.

Now, this is fun.

Plaid everything, please.
