The French consumer price index rose by 0.5 per cent month on month (MoM) in August after a MoM rise of 0.2 per cent in July and went up by 1.8 per cent YoY in the month after a 2.3-per cent YoY rise in July.
Clothing and footwear prices rose by 6.2 per cent MoM after a 10.7-per cent MoM drop in July and by 1 per cent YoY after July’s 0.9-per cent YoY rise.
