Germany’s ifo Business Climate Index fell to 85.4 in September, marking its fourth consecutive decline from August’s 86.6.
Sentiment among companies continues to worsen, with manufacturing seeing its lowest index since June 2020 due to a shortage of orders.
Trade businesses also reported increased skepticism about future prospects, adding pressure to the German economy.
