Simply put, it’s our job to find the best beauty products out there for you. From the newest serum to the hottest lipstick color to the dry shampoo that will change your life, we will find it, test it, and let you know what we think. We’re not complaining—it’s a pretty fun gig, and we’ll volunteer to be beauty guinea pigs any day.
But one of the cool things to come out of this is finding out what products you’re loving and buying. It helps us figure out what you want to learn more about and what you’re into so we can bring even more personalized recs to you.
Because we share a lot of our favorites with you every single day, we recognize it might be hard to keep up. So we’ve decided to put together a handy weekly list of what we love and what you love. Consider this a CliffsNotes, one-stop shop of what’s really trending and worth adding to your cart at this very moment.
This week, I’m sharing all the hydrating products that are helping my dried-out skin right now. You see, I went to Breckenridge, Colorado, for the first time recently and didn’t realize the high altitude was going to dry my skin out so much. It looked and felt like a shriveled-up raisin. Now, I’ve finally got it back on track after using these skin-saving products diligently. Do you have a product that we missed? We’d love to know. Send us a DM .
This is my absolute favorite face mask of the moment for any time I have a bout of dry skin. It’s so hydrating and moisturizing and my skin automatically feels so soft when I rinse it off. I love the creamy feeling that doesn’t feel too heavy.
I swear by Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost line. I use the gel cream on the regular, but I pull out this serum when my skin is parched as heck. I love it because it’s a great layering product. I normally put this on my skin, let it absorb quickly, and then add another layer of moisturizer.
This cream feels substantial in terms of consistency (aka it’s a bit thicker than the normal gel formulas I gravitate towards), but it really doesn’t feel too heavy or greasy on. It’s super moisturizing and does leave your skin looking glowy.
Certain face washes and cleansers can really dry out the skin, but I don’t want to skip the cleansing step of my routine just because my face is dry. So, I’ve been making sure I use a cleanser that’s hydrating, like this gentle formula from CeraVe.
And sometimes when I want to cleanse my face but not actually wash it, I reach for Bioderma’s micellar water, which is so refreshing and soothing.
Not only did my face get so dry from the high altitude, but so did the skin all over my body. I’ve been using this body oil right when I get out of the shower and then adding a lotion after. Osea’s is an editor-favorite and is just super lightweight and moisturizing.
I’m obsessed with how refreshing and soothing this gel cream feels on my irritated and red skin. It sinks into the skin super quickly and I always feel that it keeps my skin in good shape for the whole day. Sometimes I even apply another layer to some dry spots.
It’s so easy to forget about sunscreen when your skin is so dry. (I know for me, I have a moisturizer-only mindset when I’m dealing with angry skin.) But you can’t skip the sun protection because it’s so important. I need something that’s lightweight and not too thick because I’m already packing on the moisturizing products, so I absolutely love Supergoop!’s Every. Single. Face sunscreen because it has a watery feel and is so easy to apply.
I’ll put Aquaphor on just about any dry spot—my hands, lips, even some weird dry spots that I’ve gotten on my neck.
Weleda’s cream is also another game-changer, especially when it comes to dry hands. I love that the formula contains ingredients like rosemary, chamomile, and pansy extracts, plus sunflower and sweet almond oils.
This is my everyday body lotion and it still holds up when my skin is drier than normal. It keeps my skin moisturized for the whole day and doesn’t irritate it at all.
This face oil is just so luxe—and it’s totally worth the price, in my opinion. It’s made with nourishing botanical ingredients, absorbs into the skin quickly, and always leave my face super glowy.
Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask is my go-to when my lips are dry and chapped. Ever since I got back from my trip, I’ve been using it every day.
Formulated with colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, and allantoin, this rich cream does such a good job of rescuing my dry skin. I also like to use it when I get eczema flare-ups.
If I want to use an overnight formula, I’ll apply Youth to the People’s mask which works while you sleep to hydrate, plump, and brighten the skin. When I wake up the next morning, my skin looks a lot healthier.
Versed’s Oil-Serum was my first foray into face oils, and I’m forever grateful for that. I love that the lightweight formula goes on so smoothly and after a minute or so it feels like I’m wearing nothing. It’s so hydrating and calming.
I always have this lip balm in my bag. It’s a buttery balm that contains avocado oil; mongongo oil; and tripeptide-1 to hydrate, plump, and soften.
When my skin is dried out, I try to stay away from products I know are going to make the situation worse. Removing makeup can be tough, and while my usual makeup remover isn’t super stripping, I still use a balm during this time so I don’t make my skin drier.
