I’m just going to say it: I’m not the biggest fan of getting dressed up for the holidays. Don’t get me wrong—I love a moment to get decked out, but this year, I’m toning it down a bit. My approach to holiday dressing used to involve multiple festive looks such as black-tie dresses and pantsuits, but the older I get, the more I prefer ease and comfort over anything else.

This year, I’m embracing a more laid-back aesthetic, but make no mistake—it will still be chic. Target is one of my favorite places to go when I’m looking for elevated staples, and it definitely delivered this season. I’ve already added the gray fleece loungewear set to my cart, and I want to style the classic black lounge dress with an oversize cardigan and a pair of knitted knee-high socks. Keep scrolling for all of my cozy picks.

This striped crewneck is slowly becoming my new favorite.

Add a brown cardigan, and you have the ultimate lounge set.

It’s just so cozy!

A pair of knee-high socks is a must for the colder weather.

I’ll be living in this loungewear set all winter.

Ditto.

I’ll change into these soft flannel pajamas for the annual holiday family game night.

A plain white T-shirt worn under heavy knits is a fashion-person staple.

Do I have lots of pajama pants? Yes. Will I still add these to my cart? Also yes.

I’m going to get so much wear out of this slightly oversize cardigan.

Reserved for the rare occasion when I’ll need to leave the house.

Everyone needs a cozy pair of socks.

This cashmere-like material hits the spot.

Cozy fur-lined boots for the win.

I mean, it doesn’t get any softer than this.

Minimalist, cozy, and easy.
