Simply put, it’s our job to find the best beauty products out there for you. From the newest serum to the hottest lipstick color to the dry shampoo that will change your life, we will find it, test it, and let you know what we think. We’re not complaining. It’s a pretty fun gig, and we’ll volunteer to be beauty guinea pigs any day.
But one of the cool things to come out of this is finding out what products you’re loving and buying. It helps us figure out what you want to learn more about and what you’re into so we can bring even more personalized recs to you.
Because we share a lot of our favorites with you every single day, we recognize it might be hard to keep up. So we’ve decided to put together a handy weekly list of what we love and what you love—consider this a CliffsNotes, one-stop shop of what’s really trending and worth adding to your cart at this very moment.
Take a look at what the Who What Wear universe (including editors, staffers, and readers) is obsessed with right now, and if you don’t see a new favorite on this list, we’d love to know. Send us a DM .
Even before quarantine, I would air-dry my hair. I like to think I was trying to keep my hair healthy by avoiding heat styling, but really it was out of laziness. My colleague Kat Collings convinced me to invest in a microfiber towel, saying it was a life-changing purchase for her and that her hair looks drastically better when she uses this turban.
For my curly haired friends, this will leave your hair unbelievably soft and glossy while reducing frizz. You can use it many different ways: on wet hair after washing and conditioning, on dry hair in between wash days, and on dry hair and scalp before washing. Ingredients include kakadu plum oil, safflower oil, and capryl capric triglycerides (for shine).
And of course, I’ve got to get the conditioner, too. It’s supposed to strengthen, add shine, and repair split ends (which is something I desperately need right now).
When your haircare and fragrance favorites come together to make a baby like this dry shampoo, it’s a win-win. Ouai’s classic dry shampoo is paired with Byredo’s woodsy Mojave Ghost to leave your hair looking and smelling good.
A silk pillowcase will not only protect your hair from damage, but it will also help your skin because it doesn’t tug and won’t absorb your lotions, serums, and other nighttime routine products.
Associate editor of branded content Anneliese Dominguez keeps Kopari’s coconut oil in rotation for her curly hair. She says it moisturizes dry hair, adds shine, prevents breakage, and keeps your scalp healthy.
For dried-out and damaged strands, try this one. The clean shampoo is ultra moisturizing yet still lightweight. It also has sage and tamanu essential oils to balance oil.
Copy editor Aralyn Beamont gave this conditioner a rave review: “This conditioner actually changed my life. I try shampoo after shampoo in search of the holy grail for my roots, and throughout all those trials and disappointments, this conditioner has always kept the rest of my hair bouncing with voluminous waves. I’ll never swap it out.”
Another shampoo I’m adding to my wish list, R+Co’s formula won over senior editor Bobby Schuessler. “I never used to spend a lot of money on shampoo, but after a friend recommended R+Co, I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m now hooked. You can really tell the difference. Not only does this specific shampoo smell amazing (makes me feel like I’m in a spa), but my hair legit feels smoother and softer. It’s not as stringy-feeling as it has been in the past,” he said.
The texturizing spray is proof you don’t have to spend a fortune for quality haircare products. Beauty editor Erin Jahns says,”To be honest, this affordable spray from Kristin Ess is the best dry texturizer I’ve ever used, and I know plenty of other beauty editors (with all different hair types) who 150% agree,” she said.
One of our favorite fashion-and-beauty influencers Tennille Murphy recommends this product if you’ve got curly hair. “I am so impressed with the consistent salon-style results I achieve with this product,” she told us. “This deep conditioner is made with clean, curl-friendly ingredients that nourish my hair from scalp to tip. Infused with spearmint and peppermint, I find that this formula is so soothing on my scalp. Meanwhile, the creamy, rich, nourishing ingredients like omega-3, -6, and -9, leave my silver curls soft, defined, and moisturized.”
DPHue’s apple cider vinegar formula made our list of hair masks to help thicken your hair. It’s infused with vitamin B3, sunflower seed extract, coconut oil, and keratin to rejuvenate damaged hair.
Beauty influencer Tacha John told us Bumble and Bumble’s primer is her holy-grail product from the brand. “It works as a leave-in, heat protectant, and the base for just about every style I do. It’s also super lightweight without sacrificing moisture, which is important for my fine hair,” she said.
I’ve been taking these hair gummies for a little over a year, and I really think they leave my strands thicker, fuller, and healthier. Plus, they taste good. They’re formulated with vitamins and nutrients such as biotin, zinc, B12, PABA, folic acid, and Fo-Ti.
Jahns sold me on this product when she said it’s a “true, desert-island necessity.” It does it all, from detangling to protecting against UV and heat damage to strengthening.
Dominguez just started using this product to treat her curly hair. The oil hydrates, reduces frizz, and prevents breakage. And she says the scent is a winner, too: “The smell alone is a reason enough to put it in your hair!”
Jahns recommends Playa’s clean spray that is meant to enhance curls and waves. It contains California sea salt and marine collagen to texturize and nourish hair.
Virtue’s dry shampoo is another recommendation from Jahns, who says it’s currently an under-the-radar pick but probably not for long. The lightweight product contains tapioca starch, kaolin, and Alpha Keratin 60ku, which is a protein that improves hair health. Next up, I’m done with overhyped beauty products and can personally vouch for these 24.
Made for all different hair types—straight, wavy, curly—this weekly treatment deeply hydrates your strands and prevents future damage. It has nourishing ingredients like B vitamins, rose-hip and argan oils, collagen, and silk to get your hair healthy. Use it after shampooing, leave on for five to 10 minutes, and rinse.
I’ve been looking for a new shampoo, and this one is on my list based on rave reviews from my co-workers. Managing editor of branded content Caitie Schlisserman says it leaves her hair lighter, healthier, and less frizzy.
