Dressing for what you want is one of the oldest fashion rules in the book, so it’s not exactly shocking that clothes that look expensive or rich are highly sought after. Lately, a seemingly endless discourse on billionaire style has taken hold of the fashion and pop culture worlds (thanks, Succession). Personally, that’s not my goal. For starters, I don’t feel pulled to manifest a bank account with quite so many zeroes. Furthermore, the world’s richest people rarely seem to care about fashion. I, on the other hand, do.

Instead, I intend to dress like people with enough disposable income to buy clothing, shoes, and accessories at the very peak of quality, items that look, feel, and sit on the body as if they were designed and constructed just for you. For me, that means a curated mix of pieces from Prada, The Row, Khaite, Nili Lotan, and Loro Piana. Until I’ve manifested that into reality, however, I’m shifting my attention toward pieces that appear shockingly expensive but fit within a top-line budget of $150 rather than $1500. If that sounds familiar, keep scrolling. The 38 under-$150 finds below are just what you’ve been looking for.

I know I said I didn’t want to dress like billionaires, but fictional ones are the exception. Plus, this set is too Naomi Pierce to pass up.  Shop the matching Wide-Leg Pants ($36).

If I didn’t know better, I’d assume the price tag on this pair of teardrop-shaped earrings was more like $4400 than $44, not that I’m complaining.

This dress is pure elegance at under $150.

If you’re traveling this summer, a linen shirt is the most elite item you can pack.

From the chain handle to the oversize shape, everything about this tote screams wealth.

For a luxury take on the standard tank top, go for one with a high neck and thicker straps.

Cream suiting just looks pricier than black or navy.

The easiest LBD on the planet is also the chicest.

I tried this tank on at The Gap recently, and I’m convinced it’s the best one on the market.

It’s almost summer, which means it’s time to stock up on linen.

Wear it as a swimsuit or a bodysuit. It will look incredible either way.

No one does a dropwaist dress quite as well as Abercrombie.

These are giving serious Margiela vibes but for $100.

The jacquard pattern on this tube top makes it 10 times more lavish.

I have sunglasses that cost more than $300 and look just like this that I get compliments on 24/7.

Top every outfit with this jacket.

Levi’s Ribcage jeans are arguably the best jeans, like, ever.

Why do hats feel so rich? I can’t explain it, but it’s true.

J’adore.

This one’s a must for the season ahead.

You can’t tell from this image, but this top fits so beautifully.

Is that you, Marie? Marie Antoinette that is.

White jeans are the ultimate luxe-summer staple for Italian and French women.

A good belt will upgrade every outfit you wear it with.

It doesn’t get more effortless than a poplin button-down shirt.

The hardware on this bag takes it from an 8.5 to an 11.
