What I’m about to tell you might sound surprising coming from a beauty director: I don’t wear a lot of makeup (if any) on the daily. My beauty routine is mostly focused on how to achieve a natural glow: good sleep (thanks, Olly !), exercise, and, well, skincare worth bragging about. It has taken me years to perfect my morning ritual, but in that time, I’ve been able to edit my lineup of nonnegotiable products, and for that I’m grateful.
I find that if I take the time to focus on myself first thing, I feel more confident in my skin and mentally prepared to take on the day. With lots of practice under my belt (and access to thousands of products), I can honestly say these are the 16 products I’ll never not use in the morning. I might not use all of them every single day, but each item plays a role in my journey to look and feel my best.
Okay, technically I don’t take these in the morning, but I wouldn’t be able to get my butt up as early as I do without having a good night’s sleep. These are made with a unique blend of active ingredients including melatonin, L-theanine, and botanicals that really work together to help calm my mind. If you’re like me and start overthinking things from years ago the second your head hits the pillow, then you need these gummies in your life.
I’ve tried thousands of lip products, but nothing will give you that “your lips, but better” look more than this. It’s the perfect hint of color, it’s buttery smooth, and it makes my lips look juicy and fresh.
I’ve been obsessed with my gua sha for years now. I use it morning and night and will never not enjoy it. It increases blood circulation, which increases elastin and collagen, and it also helps with lymphatic drainage. I swear my face looks so much more lifted after using it for five to 10 minutes a day.
Aside from these eye masks being cute (they’re shaped like lightning bolts), they’re perfect to throw on when you’re doing other morning tasks like making coffee or checking emails. They’re infused with caffeine and hyaluronic acid and help de-puff, hydrate, and make your eyes look more awake.
I’ll be the first to admit that there are so many skincare products that just aren’t worth the hype. But believe me when I say this stuff is the real deal. Start using it every morning and you’ll see brighter, glowier, more youthful-looking skin within just a few days—a week, tops.
I do take these in the morning and absolutely love them. They contain vitamin D and saffron and have powerful mood-balancing properties. I’ll take these after my early-morning workout, and they give me the mood boost I need. I won’t lie—they also taste amazing, like a sweet blend of pineapple, peach, and orange.
This is the ultimate face massager. I keep mine in the freezer so it really wakes me up on days when I desperately need it. The balls are sized and angled so that they grip your face in a way that actually feels like it’s lifting and sculpting it. It’s heavenly.
If you want to feel like you’re at a spa, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of these. I use mine as soon as I get out of the shower. It helps stimulate circulation and makes my skincare products absorb better.
On days when I know I’m going to shave my legs, I grab this dry brush and work it up my legs in circular motions. It helps increase circulation and exfoliate skin, which is helpful in getting a close, smooth shave.
I have a pretty tough time focusing, so on heavy-meeting days, I like to take these to help myself concentrate and get in work mode.
I usually use this a couple of times a week for five minutes. I was using it at night, but I recently starting using it in the morning—sometimes before I shower, sometimes after. The most important thing is that I’m consistent. The device comes with four treatment spheres that use micro-4 technology to improve the appearance of cellulite and sagging skin via micro-current waves. It’s supposed to stimulate ATP production, which helps create collagen and elastin, and energize muscles for a more sculpted and lifted look. What can I say? I love bringing the spa experience home.
This is the only comb that matters when you have long hair.
If you have keratosis pilaris, you should add this to your routine. It’s a milky body serum and moisturizer that I like to slather over my arms and legs after showering. It has really helped my dryness and bumps.
I love a good facial spray, and this has become my obsession. It’s great for acne and calming redness, and it can be used in place of your toner or as needed throughout the day. Some people like another cup of coffee at 11 a.m. I like spritzing my face.
My favorite sunscreen ever, which I use every single day—rain or shine.
If you couldn’t tell by now, I’m a total beauty-tool and gadget girl. I’ve tried so many over the years, and I always come back to this palm-sized device. It syncs with an app on your phone, and every time you use it, it basically delivers the same benefits of an in-office electrical nano-current facial. It creates a circuit with your skin and stimulates collagen and elastin by pushing in electricity. It sounds totally crazy, but my face looks way more sculpted and lifted since I started using it a few years ago.
