The ministry of textiles approved two start-ups under the ‘GREAT’ scheme, each receiving ₹50 lakh (~$5.9 million) for innovation in technical textiles.
The committee also granted ₹14 crore to 6 educational institutes to introduce technical textile courses.
The start-up projects focus on sustainable and medical textiles, while the institutes will offer new B.tech courses.
