Indian textile and apparel exports are set to gain in Europe after the India–EU FTA removes import duties, giving India parity with rivals like Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Zero tariffs are expected to boost apparel and home textiles, support MSMEs and expand EU market share, with the pact covering 97 per cent of EU tariff lines and 99.5per cent of India’s export value.
