The Indian government has announced an increase in minimum wage rates by revising the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) to support workers in the unorganised sector.
Effective October 1, 2024, unskilled workers will earn $9.36 a day, while semi-skilled will earn $10.43, skilled workers $11.44, and highly skilled $12.43.
This adjustment aims to help workers cope with rising living costs.
