India’s textile industry has requested the government to extend the MIP to cover all knitted and crocheted fabrics under Chapter 60, beyond the current expiration date of September 15.
Industry groups argue that the existing MIP on select HS lines has not curbed imports effectively, as cheaper fabrics continue to be imported under different codes.
