India’s port and dock workers’ unions have deferred their nationwide strike after talks with the government alleviated their concerns on pay revision and allowances.
A meeting of the unions, minister for ports, shipping and waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and the Indian Ports Association reached consensus.
The strike call worried traders and transporters.
