India’s retail sector grew by only 2 per cent in August 2024 compared to 2023, according to RAI’s 54th Retail Business Survey.
Regional growth varied, with northern and southern India seeing 3 per cent increases, while eastern and western regions recorded just 1 per cent.
Despite subdued growth, retailers hope for improvement during the upcoming festive season.
