I guess you could say I’ve fully entered my romance era. I love seeing sweet couples on social media and browsing the Valentine’s Day–themed sections of department stores, and I’m not even annoyed by the emails filling my inbox around the holiday. I’m having a hard time not swooning over all the heart-shaped items, fresh red roses, and fun beauty looks floating around. I don’t have Valentine’s Day plans just yet, but you better believe I’ll be ready for any last-minute event that pops up on my calendar.
My fellow editors did what they do best and shared their love of beauty with me in the form of beautiful makeup looks that are easy to re-create. Every editor used SHEGLAM’s new Ember Rose collection, which features all the eye shadow, blush, and lip products you need to achieve a sultry, eye-catching look. All I can say is I have major heart eyes (and tracking info for the entire collection, which is en route to me as I type this). When it comes to inspo, our WWW editors never hold back, so prepare to stand in front of your mirror on Valentine’s Day and copy these timeless beauty looks.
Typical makeup routine: My makeup routine is typically minimal. I usually stick to concealer, blush, and brow gel, but I’m trying to embrace bolder looks using wintry colors like chocolate brown, dusty rose, and deep plum while the season is here.
Makeup inspiration: Date night inspired this look! My boyfriend and I are trying to be better about going out for weekend dinners and drinks instead of staying in and doomscrolling or binge-watching shows and movies. (IYKYK.) To make it feel special, like an event rather than just another Saturday night, I wanted to create a fresh and romantic makeup look.
Favorite part of the collection: This collection is literally foolproof—especially if you feel intimidated to incorporate color into your everyday makeup routine. SHEGLAM products are proof that you don’t have to break the bank to stay up to date on emerging trends.
How to get the look: I started with the eyes. I applied the light pink shade Heartbeat all over my eyelids before adding definition to the outer corner and crease with the light brown shade No One Else. Then, I took a liner brush and applied the chocolate-brown shade Box of Chocolate along my upper lash line, winging it out slightly. Then, I moved on to blush. I applied a generous amount of the shade I’m Yours to the apples of my cheeks, blending it up and out toward my temples. Finally, I applied lipstick in the shade Cherish You and topped it off with a thick coat of lip gloss in the shade Unconditional.
Typical makeup routine: My everyday makeup routine is all about just checking the boxes. Glowy skin? Check. Blushed cheeks? Check. Glossy lip? Check.
Makeup inspiration: Every year, my girlfriends and I plan a “Galentine’s Day” dinner and night out in the city. This year, I wanted to go for a more romantic, sultry eye look utilizing some of the mauve-pink and chocolate-brown shades in the Ember Rose palette. I also wanted to ensure my cheeks were the perfect romantic, flushed shade of pink.
Favorite part of the collection: For a while, I was focused on more natural, clean-girl makeup, but this collection has so many rich shades and vampy options that I’m reminded to play with makeup and have a little fun with it. Not to mention how adorable the packaging is—it’s all going to look so chic on my vanity. SHEGLAM has been my beauty secret weapon for a while, especially the lip and cheek products.
How to get the look: After applying my foundation and contouring my cheeks, I swept the shade Heartbeat all over my eyelid. I went with this lighter pink shade to open up my eyes and create a neutral base before I went in with the darker shades to contour my eyes and add a sultrier vibe. I started with the shade Fine Wine on the outer edges of my eye and then went in with the shade Box of Chocolates to get that smoky-eye effect. For lips, I figured what better time than now to try a deeper, romantic red lip? I’m partial to a glossy lip, and thankfully the Ember Rose collection had four nourishing lipglosses I could play with. For this look, I went with the shade Everlasting and got the high-shine, dark-cherry-red look I was after. I finished the look off by powdering my cheeks with the cream blush in the shades Love Language and I’m Yours.
Typical makeup routine: My typical makeup routine is glowy skin, long lashes, and a tinted lip.
Makeup inspiration: For this Valentine’s Day–inspired look, I turned up the blush. I wanted to create a romantic look inspired by the “doll blush” makeup trend that’s been popping up on my feed recently.
Favorite part of the collection: SHEGLAM is my go-to because it allows me to experiment with trendy looks while staying within my budget. I love this collection because it’s perfect for those special occasions like Valentine’s Day when I want to do a more alluring, enchanting look. And if there’s one product that has my heart, it’s the blush, especially the shade I’m Yours. It gives me the most beautiful flush that lasts all day and all night. You could say I’m head over heels.
How to get the look: After I apply my base and fill in my eyebrows, the fun begins. I started with blush on the apples of my cheeks for that doll-like look. I reached for the shade I’m Yours, a gorgeous rosy mauve. Next up, I used the eye shadow palette to add some depth and dimension to my eyes. I started with the shade Heartbeat (baby pink) and applied it on my inner corner, brow bone, and lid. Then, I went in with No One Else (classic taupe) in the crease and Box of Chocolates (rich chocolate brown) in the outer crease. A few swipes of mascara and my eyes were done. To finish the look, I applied the gloss in the shade Unconditional, a deep pinkish nude. Then, I layered on more gloss in the shade Everlasting, which is the perfect blue-toned red. (Psst—blue undertones make your teeth look whiter.)
